Adobe Marketo: May 2022 Release Highlights

Desiree Landa

Adobe Marketo Engage has released their May 2022 product updates and it is all about streamlining internal processes and giving marketers more flexibility across the board. Here is a look at what you can expect:

Say bye-bye to bots

Any data driven marketing team knows the struggle of bot clicks and phantom submissions compromising the integrity of reports. While you can never be rid of bot activity completely, Marketo has been adding extra filters to assist Marketing admins in removing suspicious activity. More detailed information allows you to filter out behavior based on factors such as:

  • Time on Page
  • Time on Site
  • Page scroll percentage

Dynamic Chat gets an upgrade

Dynamic Chat allows you to leverage an easy-to-use interface to target both people and accounts visiting your website. Tie this with your Marketo instance and the result is raised engagement by offering visitors a more personalized experience and more curated content exactly when they need it. This update is in the process of being rolled out gradually and will be available to all customers by Q4 this year.

A different point of view

We’ve seen more than a few updates to the Adobe Marketo Engage experience over the past few years and we’ll most likely see more in the future as Adobe slowly aligns the product to match consistencies with Adobe Experience Cloud. This specific update includes a list view which offers a less cluttered view and quick actions you can activate without accessing individual forms. You’ll also see a cleaner interface inside email templates. Admittedly, it makes you wonder when Marketo will change the landing page template editor. (shrug) Don’t worry though, for now if you aren’t a fan, you have the option to toggle back to the old view.

Veeva La Integration!

Marketo now integrates with Veeva CRM. Though it has a limited availability, this is a win for the life sciences industry specifically. The integration is only bidirectional for contact fields currently, all other syncs are one-directional from Veeva to Adobe Marketo Engage BUT I expect the integration will only grow stronger as time goes on.

A next-level approval process

We have all been down the rabbit hole of trying to figure out if the content we have is the particular version we need when it comes to building emails. Now Marketo alerts you if the version you are currently in isn’t approved. This is just an added layer of protection in the world of building dynamic content.
